
Family Support Specialist
MassCARE (Massachusetts Community Aids Resource Enhancement) is a statewide program for women, children, youth and families infected/affected by HIV/Aids. The MassCARE project at the Federation for Children with Special Needs is funded by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. The project works to support a statewide network of families (Family Advisory Network) and teens (Teen and Youth Adult Network)
Responsibilities: The Family Support Specialist will assist in the planning and implementation of MassCARE consumer participation activities and provide support to consumers at MassCARE site/s. He/she will work closely with the MassCARE director, Coordinator of Family Support Services, and other MassCARE staff to ensure completion of activities.
Qualifications: The candidate must be an HIV positive parent or a family member of a child/youth infected by HIV/AIDS. S/he must be knowledgeable about the needs of this community. The candidate must have strong communication, organization and computer skills. This is a 20 hour part time position with benefits, located in the Boston office.
