MLK-summer-scholarsThese paid internships will take place over 7 weeks in July and August 2017, with an average of 25 hours/week in-office, and is funded by the MLK Summer Scholars Initiative: 2017, sponsored by John Hancock. MLK Summer Scholars is a program which supports jobs for Boston youth. Qualified applicants must be:

  • 16-18 years old
  • a resident of Boston
  • In high school or a recent (2017) high school graduate

Agency Administration

The ideal candidate for this position will possess excellent communication skills, as well as a basic knowledge of Windows 7 and the Microsoft Office Suite. The position will provide an opportunity to gain experience working in a dynamic office environment.

Duties to include:

Information Technology

The ideal candidate will possess a working knowledge of Windows 7, data entry and reporting in Microsoft Access, and the ability to work with various server technologies. The position will provide an opportunity to gain experience working in a dynamic office environment, while honing skills in IT management and triage.

Duties to include:

  • Managing upgrades, workstations, and laptop configurations
  • software installation and updates
  • website development

FCSN’s office (Suite 1M3 in the Schrafft Center, 529 Main St., Boston, MA) are conveniently located near the Sullivan Station T Stop on the Orange Line – our building is an easy 6-minute walk from the station, and shuttle buses are helpfully provided by the Schrafft Center.
