A CRR since pre-launch in December 2022\, Ana brings extensive experience in the human services field and has worked as a domestic violence advocate in community-based services for the YWCA\, which reaches one of the largest networks of domestic violence service providers in the country. In this role\, she provided survivors with prevention education and workshops\, while also engaging with numerous community initiatives.  \nAna brings a wealth of knowledge about the Central Massachusetts community and the partnerships she has developed over the years are an asset to her current work with the BHHL. Bilingual in Spanish and English\, Ama was born and raised in San Jose\, Costa Rica\, and moved to the United States as a 10-year-old. SESP volunteers have the legal authority of a parent or legal guardian to attend special education team meetings\, approve or reject IEPs\, and\, if necessary\, file a complaint or appeal. SESPs spend about 30-40 hours a year volunteering their time.\n\nIn this Orientation Training\, you will learn about the role of an SESP\, how traumatic experiences can impact learning\, and how to incorporate the appropriate supports into the IEP.\n\nPlease arrive 5 minutes before the start of the training.
