This series is designed to help families understand their rights, the systems that support their child, and how to actively participate as members of their child&#8217;s IEP team.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dates:<\/strong> Thursdays, April 16, 23, and 30th, 6:30pm-8:30pm<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b>April 16: Evaluation and Eligibility<\/b>\u00a0offers\u00a0 a clear overview of referrals, evaluations, eligibility decisions, and parents\u2019 rights if they disagree.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b>April 23: Understanding the IEP<\/b>\u00a0explains how the IEP is created, what goes in each section, and how services and measurable goals are developed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b>April 30: Transition Planning<\/b>\u00a0covers the legal right to transition services for students ages 14\u201322 and how transition goals and supports are included in the IEP.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"x_x_x_Signature\">\n<div>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><em>This series will be virtual and a Zoom link will be sent to you email prior to the event.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Join us for the Basic in Special Education series, presented for Melanin Mass Moms members.
