Through a grant from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, the Federation for Children with Special Needs (FCSN) offers a\u00a0FREE ten-hour Positive Solutions for Families: Train the Trainer<\/b>, along with customized technical assistance for schools and districts interested in strengthening family engagement.<\/p>\n
This training prepares professionals to\u00a01) implement Positive Solutions for Families<\/i>, a social-emotional learning curriculum, and to 2) facilitate culturally responsive, group-based learning experiences for families. Participants build a strong understanding of the curriculum while developing facilitation skills to engage parents, guide discussion, and support meaningful learning experiences for families of children ages 2-5.<\/p>\n
The training is highly interactive and collaborative. Participants learn not only from FCSN training facilitators, but also from one another through discussion, shared experiences, role-playing, and scenario-based activities. Participants are encouraged to bring their own experiences and perspectives to the training, contributing to a shared learning environment that reflects the real-world contexts in which the curriculum will be delivered.<\/p>\n
