What exactly is anxiety – what is happening in our brains and bodies when we feel anxiety? How do you know when what you are seeing is an anxiety disorder? How can you help support your child or student when anxiety is getting in the way?

Presenter: Sheilah M. Gauch, M.Ed, LICSW, Principal, Dearborn Academy School 

Sheilah M. Gauch is the Principal of Dearborn Academy, a therapeutic day school that services students with social/emotional and learning needs. She is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and educator with over 20 years experience working with students with complicated mental health needs. 

Sheilah has two of her own children who have IEPs and who, because of their own school based challenges, required out of district school placement. She is currently the Chair of the SEPAC in her community.
