Presenter: Linda H. Bram, Ph.D., Psychologist and Parent

Public schools are legally obligated to provide a range of classroom and school placements for children with special needs. There are children do well in general education or inclusion classrooms, and others require more intensive supports such as private special education day or residential schools. Parents whose children are struggling may not know what options are available. This webinar describes the continuum of possible placements so that parents can better advocate for their children.

Linda Helmig Bram, PhD, is a psychologist who specializes in supporting children, adolescents, and adults with disabilities and their families. She is a Part-time Lecturer at Cambridge Health Alliance/Harvard Medical School, and a consultant at the Federation for Children with Special Needs. Dr. Bram worked with Federation staff to create a website called Special Education Placement Options at fcsn.org/sepo which she is going to talk about today. She is also a parent of children with special needs.
