Parent-to-Parent Coordinator/Family TIES
Gloria Klaesges is the parent of a adult daughter who has Hurler Syndrome – (Mucopolysaccharidosis) Gloria has worked to educate her community in the areas of emerging medical treatments for MPS 1, special education services, Parent-to-Parent support and community based supports for people with complex medical and developmental needs to help bring about positive change in our society, generally. Her main interests focus on the power of Parent-to-Parent support and the empowerment and strength it provides for families, across disability. Gloria is the Statewide Parent to Parent Program Coordinator and has worked for Family TIES of Massachusetts, a project of the Federation for Children with Special Needs, with funding from and in collaboration with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Bureau of Family Health and Nutrition, Division for Children & Youth with Special Health Needs since 2006. She is an Alliance member of Parent to Parent USA.
