Regional Parent Coordinator Southeast, MA – Family TIES of MA
Marie Younger Blackburn has been empowering women on Cape Cod and the surrounding areas to be the change in their communities for many years. Her roles as most Notable Networker (BNI), Certified Networker, The Referral Institute, graduate of Leadership Cape Cod, and founder of HOPP (Hour of Profitable Power) have led her to build an extensive network of entrepreneurs, small business owners, community leaders, and public officials.
Known as “the Connector,” she utilized her skills to become the Visionary and Event Planner of Driven Cape Cod’s Conference For Women, comprising conferences, retreats, and celebratory events to honor the accomplishments of women. Marie uses her platform to host “Driven Women T.V., Conversations That Matter,” and a Facebook page titled “Let Me Tell You A Story.”
Marie serves on the board of the Cape Cod YMCA and is a member of the College Light Opera Company (CLOC) Board of Trustees, in addition to its DEI committee. She is a social justice advocate, particularly of inclusion for people with diverse abilities, such as her eighteen-year-old son, Chase, who has Down syndrome (#includeme). Marie was the recipient of the 2017 Unsung Heroine Award and is a former Commissioner of the Cape Cod & Islands Commission on the Status of Women.
Her core belief is that women possess all they need; they just need to be supported, and through her actions and spurring others to action, she reaps her own reward. Marie is a poet, public speaker, social media marketer, business connector, and social activist. Her greatest passion is fostering an environment of diverse and equally passionate people.
Marie’s life is enhanced by her husband Mark, her middle son Dane, and working alongside her eldest son Ralph as Senior Event Planner for his business, Simply Black & White Catering.
