Esther Joins Federation as Latino Outreach Coordinator
Ruth Esther de la Cruz Done is originally from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice in 2014.
She has two daughters. The younger child has a special condition which resulted in Ruth’s decision five years ago to move to the U.S. Later she began learning about disabilities and the special education system and making strong connections to Latino communities.
She attended the Leadership Series and Advocacy Boot Camp thr
ough Mass. Families Organizing for Change, the Federation’s first Parent Leadership Training offered in Spanish, the Federation’s Barbara Popper Institute.
She is involved with Fuente de Luz, a support group for parents at Boston Children’s Hospital.
Ruth speaks Spanish and English and has a warm and welcoming personality.
