The Federation for Children with Special Needs now administers a limited number of Massachusetts Developmental Disabilities Council Empowerment Funds for the Parent Consultant Training Institute (PCTI). Individuals with developmental disabilities and family members / guardians of individuals with developmental disabilities may be eligible for PCTI scholarship totaling up to $250. Additionally, those receiving the scholarship MUST complete the mandatory Follow-Up Survey upon conclusion of the course in order to retain the award.
A “developmental disability” is broadly defined as a severe, chronic, often lifelong disability that causes substantial limitations in several major life activities such as: self-care, receptive and expressive language, learning, mobility, self-direction, the capacity for independent living, and economic self-sufficiency. A developmental disability is attributable to a mental, emotional, sensory, and/or physical impairment that is apparent before the age of twenty-two.
Scholarship availability is limited. If funds are available and you would like to apply, click “yes” on the PCTI Registration Form and the scholarship will automatically be applied to your registration. Please note that this option will only appear on the registration form if scholarship funds are available.
