{"id":1388912,"date":"2025-08-08T15:20:57","date_gmt":"2025-08-08T19:20:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fcsn.org\/?post_type=resource&#038;p=1388912"},"modified":"2025-08-08T15:20:57","modified_gmt":"2025-08-08T19:20:57","slug":"masshealth-premium-assistance","status":"publish","type":"resource","link":"https:\/\/fcsn.org\/pt\/resource\/masshealth-premium-assistance\/","title":{"rendered":"MassHealth Premium Assistance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Premium Assistance Program (MSPCA) for MassHealth Standard and CommonHealth<\/p>\n<h2>Why should I apply?<\/h2>\n<p>The MassHealth Standard\/CommonHealth Premium Assistance Program (MSCPA) can make CommonHealth more affordable by providing financial assistance to families who have a family member with a disability.<\/p>\n<h2>What is my eligibility for Premium Assistance?<\/h2>\n<p>One or more family members must have MassHealth Standard or CommonHealth<br \/>\n\u2022 The family member must also be covered by private health insurance<br \/>\n\u2022 A family member must pay some of the premium for the private health<br \/>\ninsurance<br \/>\n\u2022 The private health plan must cover services that meet Minimum<br \/>\nCreditable Coverage (MCC). The private insurance must also meet the<br \/>\nMCC requirements for deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses. There is no asset test or income cap for this type of premium assistance.<\/p>\n<h2>How do I apply for MassHealth Premium Assistance?<\/h2>\n<p>STEP 1: Receive confirmation that your family member has received<br \/>\nMassHealth Standard or MassHealth CommonHealth.<br \/>\nSTEP 2: Gather all your insurance information.<br \/>\nSTEP 3: Call Premium Assistance (1-800-862-4840) to see if you qualify.<br \/>\nSTEP 4: Say that you are calling about the MSCPA program for a family<br \/>\nmember with a disability who has MassHealth Standard or CommonHealth<br \/>\nAND private health insurance.
