Empowered Families: A Three-Part Series on Special Education

leer en espanolThe series consists of three workshops and one optional IEP Clinic focused on providing training to parents, caregivers and professionals to understand and advocate for appropriate special education services for students. We welcome participants to stay for lunch, meet other families, and network. Special education professionals will be available to discuss specific concerns or answer questions. It is our goal for these workshop experiences to be truly enriching and empowering.

3/19/19Basic Rights in Special Education: An overview of special education laws and procedures.
4/23/19An IEP for My Child:
Learn about how the IEP can support students with special needs and special healthcare needs (SHCN).
5/7/19IEP Clinic:
Professionals will meet families one-on-one to review IEPs.
5/21/19Introduction to the Transition Planning Process: Preparing students with special needs and SHCN for life after high school.
