Aceriane Leal

Aceriane is the School Finder Project Manager, having previously served as the Portuguese-speaking Outreach Specialist at the Federation. Originally from Curitiba, Brazil, Aceriane came to the United States over 20 years ago after studying physics at the State University of Ponta Grossa.  She has been involved with the Federation for 13 years, when she learned her child had a disability. She is a graduate of the Parent Consultant Training Institute and has been a workshop presenter for the Federation for many years. She brings insight, hands-on experience, and a solid understanding of how to effectively navigate the special education system. Aceriane values the importance of informing and training parents about their rights so they can meaningfully participate in the education planning process and work collaboratively with school and other professionals to obtain the best outcomes for their children.
