Jennifer Rose-Wood

Jen Rose-Wood is a Training Coordinator with the Federation for Children with Special Needs. She grew up in Seekonk, MA in a family and community of creative, neurodiverse people. Jen has worked as a general and special educator in three different districts in Massachusetts and has devoted her career to creating more access and opportunities for young people with disabilities. In Brookline, Jen co-designed the Family Partnership, a program matching teacher-mentors with families of under-served students with the goal of providing academic and social-emotional support in a 2Gen approach. In Boston, she was elected to the Inclusion Planning Team where she was part of the team that conducted a building audit of special education services and helped lead the effort to secure additional social work staff. She also contributed to the redesign of the Family Conferences with the goal of uplifting student and family voice. Jen is a graduate of the Perrone-Sizer Institute for Creative Leadership which trains educators, artists and community organizers to be leaders in racial justice. She has an MAT from Brown University and completed her Special Education moderate disabilities licensure at Lesley University. Jen lives in Boston with her partner Josh, two children and locally famous cat. For fun, Jen enjoys making quilts, reading mysteries, and eating anything chocolate.
