Students with Disabilities Can Build Career Skills While In High School through Pre-ETS    

Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) are a set of early career development services provided to students with disabilities to help them prepare for life after high school. These services are designed to support students in exploring career options, building skills, and making informed decisions about their futures. 

 How Can MassAbility Help? 

MassAbility is a state human service agency that helps individuals with disabilities live independently and prepare for employment. They offer a variety of vocational and independent living supports for both youth and adults with disabilities. 

MassAbility is responsible for: 

  • Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) – Helping individuals prepare for and find employment 
  • Community Living Services – Supporting independent living in the community 
  • Disability Determination – Reviewing eligibility for federal benefit programs 

Counselors work with youth and adults with all types of disabilities, including transition-aged youth (ages 14–22). 

What Are Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS)? 

Pre-Employment Transition Services help students with disabilities prepare for the workforce before finishing high school. 

Pre-ETS services include: 

  • Job exploration counseling 
  •  Work readiness training 
  •  Work-based learning experiences 
  •  Counseling on post-secondary education options 
  •  Self-advocacy skills development
