Youth VOC: Where YOU Matter. Transportation: Getting from Here to There

For our second annual Youth Visions of Community Conference, we are planning engaging and informative presentations, activities, information and resources for young people ages 14-26 and their families. Our theme is Getting From Here to There, and we’ll help you consider a variety of topics in postsecondary transition.

Youth will engage in activities and presentations with their peers. Parents and caregivers will have the opportunity to talk to transition professionals, to ask questions, to visit resource tables from a variety of support organizations, and to learn about different approaches to support their youth in this important time.

In addition, this year will have two presentations on the theme of transportation – an important topic for anyone thinking about postsecondary transition.

  • Self-advocate Andrew Arboe will present “What Driving Provided to Me: An Autistic Perspective”
  • Linda Shepard Salzer, Travel Trainer for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), will present “Travel Training Presents Opportunities.”

We will also feature resource tables from local and state organizations serving transition aged youth. For more information or to request accommodations, please contact Transition@fcsn.org or (617) 236-7210.
