Upcoming Informational Webinars Sponsored by DESE and The Federation for Children with Special Needs (FSCN)

Educational Outcomes such as Graduation, Dropouts, and Dropout Re-engagement
This Spring, The Department and The Federation for Children with Special Needs (FCSN) are sponsoring three new virtual webinars on key themes in special education related to our annual State Performance Plan and Annual Performance Report (SPP/APR).
On Wednesday, April 29th the subject will be Educational Environments in Massachusetts: What does it mean for a student to be taught in the least restrictive environment? Why is that so important? And what are we doing about it? Topics covered will include the impact of LRE on student learning, the data collected on educational environments, and discussions around improvement strategies to promote learning and success for students with disabilities. The Federation will provide key questions families can ask to better engage local decision-makers in key discussions about educational opportunities for students.
In May and June, the series continues with two additional webinars, currently scheduled for Wednesday, May 27th (Post-School Outcomes for Students with Disabilities) and Wednesday, June 17th (Educational Outcomes such as Graduation, Dropouts, and Dropout Re-engagement). All webinars will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and everyone is welcome.
