Join us for the Basic in Special Education series, presented for Melanin Mass Moms members. This series is designed to help families understand their rights, the systems that support their child, and how to actively participate as members of their child’s IEP team.

April 16: Evaluation and Eligibility offers  a clear overview of referrals, evaluations, eligibility decisions, and parents’ rights if they disagree.

April 23: Understanding the IEP explains how the IEP is created, what goes in each section, and how services and measurable goals are developed.

April 30: Transition Planning covers the legal right to transition services for students ages 14–22 and how transition goals and supports are included in the IEP.
