Secondary Options Family Engagement (SOFE) Project
The SOFE Project was created through a grant from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). Housed within the Federation for Children with Special Needs (FCSN) and Massachusetts Statewide Family Engagement Center (MASFEC), our goal is to build awareness of career and technical education among families with preferred language other than English, guided by the insights of families themselves.

Partnering with Families to Improve Access to Career and Technical Education
Families are the experts on their own communities. The SOFE project taps into the expertise of language-diverse families to help improve awareness of Career and Technical Education.

Family-Friendly Career & Technical Education Resources
The Federation is coordinating a statewide effort to develop parent-friendly, language-accessible information about vocational, career and technical education programs in Massachusetts.

October 2021 Focus Groups & Surveys
A key goal of the SOFE project is to gather input from Massachusetts families about the information available on Career and Technical Education. Learn about the findings of our October 2021 focus groups and surveys.
