This one-hour live presentation by The New England Genetics Network  (NERGN) includes “Genetics 101” as well as a strong focus on Genetic Education Materials for School Success (GEMSS). Presenters will provide a brief overview of genetics, share action steps and resources, and leave time for Q&A.

Presenters:
Edward M. Kloza, MS CGC and Karen Volle, Program Manager of NERGN

Ed Kloza is a Certified Genetic Counselor and currently serves as Genetics Consultant for the New England Regional Genetics Network (NERGN), which is housed at the Institute on Disability at the University of New Hampshire. Ed has a long and varied career both as a clinician, and an educator working to bring context and understanding to students at all levels. Ed lives and works in Maine.

Karen currently serves as Project Manager for NERGN, and lives in New Hampshire. She has been in this or a similar role since 2008. Karen has a strong background in human services, having directed a Juvenile Intake program for eighteen years prior to working at UNH. This experience spanned child welfare, the juvenile court system and social services, and helped Karen learn to look across systems as well as to manage day to day activities.
